The Lahore-based application founded by Faisal and Saad Zahid aims to “eliminate the friction small-scale sellers face in sourcing products, arranging delivery and collecting payment”. By opting for the services provided by Zarya, sellers would be able to worry less about delivery and focus on sales. Unsurprisingly, a lot of Zaryas customers are housewives who wish to work from home and find a suitable stream of income for themselves.
Currently, the Zarya App has over 3000 items which include clothe, shoes, textiles, makeup, etc. Mr. Faisal spoke at the pre-seed funding saying,
“Pakistan has over 100 million YouTube and 45m Facebook users. They are spending more than three hours per day on social media apps. If [they are] spending so much time online, it’s quite natural to start buying and selling while on social media apps. We aim to give our sellers every opportunity to thrive in this environment.”
