During the Ignite Top 200 event held in Dubai, VEON honored Jazz, JazzCash, and sister company Mobilink Microfinance Bank (MMBL) as diversity and inclusion (D&I) champions in seven markets worldwide.

“Through our goods, services, sustainability efforts, and workplace practices, we are dedicated to enhancing the lives and livelihoods of women. Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz and Chairman of MMBL, remarked that this honor “further confirms our approach towards empowering women in our society. And renews our zeal as we move forward in our path of creating a technologically and financially inclusive ecosystem.”

Jazz is committed to advancing diversity and women’s emancipation as part of its business model. It focuses on advancing women in society by harnessing the power of the internet.

Providing women with digital access to financial, health, and other life-improving services are playing a crucial part in addressing many of the larger gender inequities.

In accordance with the GSMA’s Connected Women Commitment Initiative, Jazz has committed to doubling the percentage of female customers using mobile internet by the year 2023.

JazzCash, a digital financial service, has already achieved its GSMA Connected Women target two years before schedule. And is now aiming to double the proportion of female customers to 50% over the following several years.

A cornerstone program of MMBL, the Women Inspirational Network (WIN) Program focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). As well as capacity building, and using digital technology for female economic development.

WIN creates strategic alliances that foster the growth of financial services catered specifically to women. These include digital lending, deposits, and insurance.

The MMBL WIN program is a pioneering initiative for the advancement of financial inclusion in the nation. It is also acknowledged by the State Bank of Pakistan. Similar to that, the Humqadam campaign is an additional effort to promote DEI. By providing work possibilities and opportunities for on-the-job skill development, it has improved the lives of people with disabilities (PwDs).

Jazz was also honored earlier this year with the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s “Driving Change Beyond Workplace” award at the Women Empowerment Awards 2021 .

Additionally, Aamir Ibrahim is a part of the globally renowned, well-known Champions of Change Coalition. Which works to hasten the process of establishing more inclusive and forward-thinking organizations in Pakistan.
