Ufone, MicroEnsure Launch Family Health Insurance in Pakistan

In a recent development, telephone operator Ufone has signed a partnership with MicroEnsure to introduce family health insurance in Pakistan through their health insurance product – ‘U-Sehat Family’. Through this product, Ufone users will have access to virtual health consultancy through an easy-to-use insurance system.

Traditional health systems are usually difficult to use, by digitizing this aspect of health insurance systems they provide users with convenience. This has especially been important during the outbreak of the pandemic. There are special health packages to accommodate users with different requirements. The packages include: ‘Silver’ (PKR 6+tax/day), ‘Gold’ (PKR 12+tax/day), and ‘Platinum’ (PKR 19.5+tax/day).

U-Sehat also provides benefits to their users such as Daily Hospitalization Benefit, Covering Funeral Expenses, Daily Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Benefit, and covering hospital cost.

Shahbaz Khan, Executive Vice President (EVP), Wireless Services, PTCL Group, spoke at the launch ceremony,
