Dr. Aisha Ghous Pasha, Minister of State for Finance and Revenue, met with Jorgen C. Arentz Rostrup, EVP and Head of Asia, Telenor Group, on Thursday in the Finance Division. Irfan Wahab Khan, CEO of Telenor Pakistan, and other top executives also attended the meeting.

The Telenor team presented the minister with their telecommunications company’s vision and objectives. It was said that Telenor would play a significant role in Pakistan’s next phase of digital growth and in capturing new prospects in the telecommunications sector.

Telenor is pleased to serve the people of Pakistan and be a part of its digital path, according to Rostrup. Connectivity promotes economic activity and will be a crucial driver of Pakistan’s next phase of digital progress. As a result, it is critical to creating a favorable business climate to propel the country forward and construct a resilient digital economy. On the other hand, Telenor is dealing with several operational challenges related to spectrum range and taxation rate, he continued.

The minister greeted the Telenor team and praised them for their efforts to provide excellent services in Pakistan and contribute to the country’s income. It was also revealed that the administration is in a transitional period, but difficult decisions are in the works to reduce economic bottlenecks and ensure economic growth stability. This stability would help both companies and the general public in the country.

The minister highlighted and praised the importance of the telecommunications industry in the development of Pakistan’s digital economy. She also guaranteed the team that the government would offer the utmost possible assistance for the country’s telecommunications sector growth.
