SECP Conducts Webinar on “Digital Onboarding of Investors”

In a bid to promote innovative solutions and facilitate startups the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has organized a webinar on “Digital Onboarding of Investors”. The webinar is was conducted in collaboration with the National Incubation Center (NIC) and also explained the new regulator regime launched by SECP. Moreover, it also emphasized the KYC requirements that need to be fulfilled to open trading accounts.

There are a variety of options available for all types of customers. For example, low-risk customers can opt for Sahulat accounts in which it is not necessary to fulfill KYC requirements. Non-resident Pakistanis can avail of the facility of Roshan Digital Accounts which .can be opened if the KYC information is available.

There are several other measures that are taken by the SECP to help NRPs in opening the accounts while skipping the physical submission of documents. The documents can be verified by either the Notary Public of the respective country or the Counsel General of Pakistan.
