SECP Company Registrations Increase by 20pc in Sept

According to a statement released by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) there has been an increase of companies by 20% in the month of September as compared to the same period last year. This makes a total of 2, 223 new companies and a market capitalization of Rs2.8 billion. The total number of registered companies now stands at 1,52,089.

Out of all the companies registered, 65 percent of them are private limited. Whereas, 32 percent are single member companies. The 3 percent remaining one’s are unlisted and non-profit associations, imited liability partnership (LLP), and trade organizations. Almost 99 percent of the companies were registered online and there were 210 users that registered the companies from overseas.

In terms of sectors, there are 377 companies that belong to the onstruction & real estate sector, 316 from information technology, 3210 from trading, 209 from service sector, followed by 85 from food & beverage, 74 in textile, 66 from education, 54 from market and development, closely followed by corporate farming, pharmaceutical, engineering, healthcare, tourism, auto, chemical, transport, etc.

SECP has also reported 61 new foreign company investments from China, Canada, Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, Iran, Qatar, UAE, USA, Spain are some of the most noticeable names.
