Second Batch of “PakVac” Ready For Use: Sources


According to sources the second dose of PakVac has been developed and will be available for use in a few days after approval from the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP). The first batch of PakVac was made with the help of Chinese experts and is based on the formula of the Chinese vaccine – Cansino. However, the second batch which is yet to be released has to go under the approval of DRAP.

The National Institute of Health will be providing raw materials to help in the production of vaccines. It has also been reported that currently there is enough raw material to produce almost 0.9 million doses of this vaccine.

“The vaccine will be developed on large scale from next month,” – sources

Approximately 100, 000 doses are expected to be produced in a day. The NIH has also issued guidelines for the storage of the single-dose vaccine to improve effectiveness. The vaccine can only be used for people over the age of 18 years. Moreover, people who are suffering from mental, cardiac, lung-related diseases, diabetes, and obesity can also be administered via the vaccine.
