PTCL, Dell Bringing Microsoft Azure Services to Pakistan

In a recent development, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has collaborated with Dell Technologies to bring Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Services to Pakistan for the first time. The service will help PTCL users to use technology to un-tap their business’s complete potential.

The agreement signing ceremony took place at PTCL Headquarters, Islamabad, and was attended by senior executives on behalf of PTCL Enterprises and Dell Technologies. Sayyed Muhammad Imran Ali, EVP, Digital Services, PTCL signed the agreement on behalf of PTCL. Whereas, Naveed Khan, Director, Data Center Solutions for Asia Emerging Markets, Dell Technologies signed the agreement on behalf of Dell.

Sayyed Muhammad Imran Ali, EVP, Digital Services, PTCL, said during the event,

“PTCL Azure Stack is a leap towards digitization, Cloud readiness, and innovation. It has the potential of helping SMEs and large enterprises to reinvent their customer experiences and allowing governments and academic institutions to innovate. This partnership will enable us to broaden our enterprise customers’ capabilities and ensure faster growth.

Naveed Khan, Director, Data Center Solutions for Asia Emerging Markets, Dell Technologies, also added,

“We are honored to support PTCL to extend their cloud reach in Pakistan to help businesses innovate and adopt the hybrid cloud with confidence. With the Dell Technologies Azure Stack, PTCL customers can experience Azure Cloud services without moving their applications and data out of the country.”

Microsoft Azure when deployed at PTCL will help add innovation and flexibility to the infrastructure at hand. The Azure Stack Hub will provide consistent services which can be either connected to the internet and disconnected environments as well. The Azure Stack Hub has technologies similar to global Azure including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) capabilities.
