PTA, GSMA Partner to Organize Workshop on Digital Identity

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the GSMA recently partnered up to hold a workshop on 25 October 2021. The workshop was held at the PTA Auditorium. The purpose of the workshop was to access the benefits that digital identity would have for consumers and businesses which could further the attempts of the government and private organizations to transform the digital landscape in Pakistan.

GSMA and Infobip speakers spoke during the workshop and discussed the requirements of mobile identity, use cases, and how security features can improve the current processes. The sessions conducted further discussed the important role of the mobile industry and how it is playing a role in digital identity.

The workshop was attended by senior officials from both PTA and GSMA. It was also concluded that the mobile operators in Pakistan have a joint responsibility to work towards nurturing the digital ecosystem and also to build consumer-centric solutions for Pakistan.
