In the current e-commerce boom, having an institute that is solely focused on e-commerce studies is extremely important. The recent initiative by the government of Pakistan will hopefully bridge the gap that the e-commerce industry is facing.
According to the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM), Aon Abbas Buppi, the federal government has decided to establish its first e-commerce university. Talking to the media Mr. Aon states that the government will lay foundations for the e-commerce university soon. He also added that the university will polish the skills of the traders around the country and prepare them for the international market as well.
Moreover, the institute will help to create employment opportunities for the youngsters and provide them with an environment that helps them to grow. This step will also help to increase the county’s exports which will help to improve Pakistan’s position economically. There will also be a web portal developed to prevent illegal e-commerce trade in Pakistan.
Senator Aon Abbas also added that the federal government will resolve issues for all e-commerce traders related to finance, taxes, logistics, and ease of doing business.
