Pakistan is now finally part of the American e-commerce giants seller’s approved list! Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood was the one to break the news on Thursday.

“We have finally made it. We have been engaged with Amazon since last year and now it’s happening. It is a great opportunity for our youth, small and medium enterprises and women entrepreneurs,” – he said

He further elaborated:

“An important milestone of the e-commerce policy has been achieved through teamwork by many people across the globe”

The development can be seen as a major boost for the e-commerce industry. According to details released this will help create opportunities for sellers to sell their products across the borders. Moreover, the exporters will get a chance to market their products via the 3P model and the 1p model. The development does not mean much for Pakistani consumers as Amazon will give a chance to sell their products to those based outside Pakistan.

Priminister Imran Khan welcomed Amazons operations in Pakistan in his tweet:

The Special Assistant to the PM on Political Information, Dr. Shahbaz Gill, praised the efforts of the current government. He said that this milestone could not be achieved in the past decade of the country’s history.

Amazon has included Pakistan in its list of sellers. With this development, Pakistan has now joined the international market. This will result in billions in investment and produce employment opportunities. Thank you Imran Khan – he said.
