According to a World Bank report Pakistan is ready to adopt the 5G technology as the adoption is dependant on a number of factors. The reasons stated in the World Bank report include lack of large unified blocks of available spectrum, wider availability of fiber optic networks, and the wider availability of 5G smartphones and other affordable devices. The report deems these conditions necessary for the adoption of 5G technology.

The World Bank report which was prepared by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology was developed to analyse whether Pakistan is ready for 5G or not. The final report, Pakistan: Telecommunications Advisory, 5G Preparedness Plan for Pakistan, explains Pakistan’s current telecommunications market which has been analyzed to determine whether the 5G technology can be implemented in Pakistan while comparing it with neighboring countries and global standards.
