In a bid to promote technology, digitalization, and entrepreneurship – JS Bank has recently partnered with Pakistani tech startup Remotebase to host the biggest virtual hackathon in Pakistan. JS Bank was the platinum sponsor for the event, whereas, the event was co-hosted by Ejad Labs. The hackathon had several prizes in store for its winners. There was a prize pool of more than Rs2,500,000, not just that winners could also get their hands iPhones, MacBooks, and FAANG mentorships, depending on the category won.

There were several award categories including Best Written Code, Best Design project, Most Functional Project, Audiences’ Choice Award, and Investors’ Award. Those who participated had to submit their ideas to the judges who were renowned capitalists from all over the world.
The hackathon was an Open Banking Ecosystem initiative. The Chief Digital Officer at JS Bank spoke on the occasion,
“Remotebase Hackfest built a stage to look at digital challenges and learn from them, to explore the advancement of technology that encourages digital revolution, and to transform the future of banking, all while promoting entrepreneurship. JS Bank looks forward to supporting these efforts and driving success-based initiatives.”
CEO Remotebase, Qasim Asad Salam, also shared his views saying that the collaboration will help attract new talent and further help to unlock new business models. He also said,
“The future is all about digitalization and building a technology-driven society”
The hackathon received a huge number of registrations proving it to be a massive success. There were more than 3000 registration received. The team’s FX Flutter and Team Ghar Pe took the lead in the fintech challenge. JS Bank has been promoting a tech-driven culture and improving customer experience through new and innovative methods.
