Instagram is testing a new feature that will let users access their recently shared Reels and send them to other friends at a later time.

Twitter account, Dijital Ağlar, noted the feature, tweeting a photo that showed a row at the top of users’ DMs, with a “Latest Shares” label. The screenshot shared also indicated that shared posts will also show avatars of the friends a user shared a Reel with.

Instagram has confirmed the latest feature addition to Tech Crunch as well. Meta spokesperson told the news agency,
“We’re rolling out improvements to how you can search for and rediscover Reels that were previously shared in messages.”

Details of when the feature will be made available to all users haven’t been released yet.

The social media company has been focusing more on Reels in the past year. It was to encourage users to share more Reels daily rather than posts.

Just last year, the platform announced that it would share any video shorter than 15 minutes as a Reels post. Last week, Meta platforms also announced the creator bonuses program for Reels to monetize ad revenue sharing.

Instagram is a photo and video-sharing social networking service owned by the American company Meta Platforms. The app allows users to upload media that can be edited with filters and organized by hashtags and geographical tagging. Posts can be shared publicly or with preapproved followers.
