The makers of Toyota in Pakistan, Indus Motor Company have launched a nationwide “Service Campaign to deal with the faulty fuel pump issue which is prevalent in some of their vehicles. The company is asking consumers to get their Toyota vehicles checked at Toyota authorized dealership stores.
The Chief Executive Officer at Indus Motor Company, Ali Asghar Jamali, confirmed the news by telling sources that some of the fuel pump mechanisms might fail to operate.

“This may lead to low or no fuel supply to the vehicle systems leading to stoppage of the vehicle or a starting problem. The engine check light will show the warning, although the fuel pump failure rate has been very low, Toyota has decided to replace the fuel pumps in (the) complete range,” he added.
Mr. Jamali also stated that the fuel pumps will be replaced free of cost at the dealership stores. It has been found out that the fault could be prevalent in almost 140, 000 Toyota vehicles, most of which are variants of the Corolla model.
