A great step by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government. The first SheMeansBusinessTraining Workshop was conducted in Durshals. The 3-day workshop was launched after the joint collaboration between DEMO and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB).
The SheMeansBusiness program was first launched in 2016. The launch of the program was an effort by women-owned enterprises as a chance for them to become part of the digital ecosystem and receive training through the platform. To help these female entrepreneurs DEMO along with the KPITB board conducted a 3-day skill training program in seven of Durshals community spaces. Durshals are community spaces based in KP which aim to provide the youth of the region with opportunities to explore themselves, innovate and one day launch their own businesses.

The workshop proved to be a successful venture with women from all kinds of industries taking part in the training sessions. The CEO of DEMO spoke at the occasion saying that:
“I am very pleased to see the response and motivation of our participants. The launch of SheMeansBusiness programme will help women from KP to learn from a world-class curriculum and apply digital and financial literacy tools to improve their businesses.”
The KPITB managing director Dr. Sahibzada Ali Mahmud said: “The launch of this program has created an exciting opportunity for the entrepreneurs who want to equip themselves with the required expertise to be successful in this digital age, especially women-led businesses.”
He also added that he is hopeful that this initiative will improve the digital skills of women based in the KP which will have a positive impact on the KP economy.

The upcoming workshops are expected to be conducted in Abbottabad, Swat, Swabi, Bannu, and Mardan in the months to follow.
