FinnFund Plans to Invest in TPL Insurance


In a recent turn of events, Finland’s major development financer, Finnish Fund for Industrial Cooperation Limited (Finnfund), has shown interest in making equity investments at TPL Insurance. Currently, there are ongoing legal and financial matters that need to be sorted. Once the necessary steps are completed the company will take forward the investment proceedings.

“The company is pleased to announce that the Finnish Fund for Industrial Cooperation Limited, a Private Limited Company incorporated in Finland, (“Finnfund”), a major development financier and impact investor, investing in responsible and profitable businesses in the developing countries, has entered into a Letter of Intent, with TPL Insurance Limited,” said TPL Insurance.

Finnfund was founded in 1980 and has made over 31 investments of over 200 million euros in 2020 alone. Most of the Finnfund investments are in developing counties that have a low income. Whereas, TPL Insurance is a Pakistan-based insurance company and a CxO Global Forum Member Company that is selling general insurance products for the first time in Pakistan.
