Elon Musk’s Starlink Plans to Connect Pakistan to their Worldwide Network

In a recent development, a delegation from Starlink visited the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) headquarters in Islamabad on the 13th of December. The delegation included Ryan Goodnight, Director Middle East & Asia, and Ben Macwilliam, Head of Global Site Acquisition.

The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the matters pertaining to the provision of satellite broadband connectivity in Pakistan and Starlink’s future plans for connecting Pakistan to its global network. The meeting took place in the presence of the PTA Chairman, Maj General Amir Azeem Bajwa (R), and Executive Director, Frequency Allocation Board.

The US-based global satellite broadband provider was given assurance by Chairman PTA that PTA will support Starlink’s operations in Pakistan in accordance with the country’s regulatory framework. Chairman PTA also informed Starlink representatives about PM’s vision of Digital Pakistan and the future prospects in Pakistan’s evolving market for quality broadband internet.
