Chinese engineers are preparing to construct a 590-foot-tall dam, using robots and 3D-printed materials.

China engineers, for the first time in history, are planning to construct the largest 3D-printed project – a 590-foot tall dam on the Tibetan Plateau.

The engineers planned the project according to a research paper published in the  Journal of Tsinghua University last month, which laid out plans for the dam.

The South China Post reported that the planned Yellow River dam will be fully ‘robotic’ and offer nearly five billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.

Machinery will deliver the 3D-printed modules from the production area to the site. And then using unmanned bulldozers, pavers, and rollers the dam’s construction will finalize without human labor.

Sensors on the rollers will keep the AI system informed that the structure is firm and stable. As it is in the layers that will eventually reach 590 feet.

Large structures have been constructed in recent years using 3D printing, like houses in China and office buildings in Dubai. The research paper’s lead author, Liu Tianyun, remarked that:

  • The AI system will keep the robotic line and 3D printing running smoothly. It will eliminate chances of human error or even concerns for human safety.

The notable fact in this initiative is that it has never happened before in the history of the world. The success of 3D Technology will bring many wonders in the history of mankind. All the countries are trying to take advantage of this technology to excel and make their name. We should also never forget that China has already experienced the creation of an artificial sun some time ago.

Let’s see how much Pakistan will be taking advantage of this 3D Technology to make wonders in the near future.
