The two-day exhibition of the 10th edition of WEXNET is going to be held at Expo Centre in Lahore on March 17 & 18. The event is the country’s largest women entrepreneur exhibition organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) in collaboration with USAID Small and Medium Enterprise Activity and ITC.

As per the information released, the event will feature more than 300 unique brands where the country’s best artisans, designers, and leading entrepreneurs would participate.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has changed how the world functions, illustrating the limitations of many existing systems and highlighting the need to reimagine the role of information technology as a lever for economic productivity and growth. Keeping this In view, the theme for the 10th WEXNET is “W.E. Experience I.T.” to highlight the importance of Information Technology (IT) in enhancing business resilience and continuity.

It was also revealed that the fair would cover a wide range of IT-related topics to equip women entrepreneurs with the necessary knowledge to help transform their businesses to the new normal. The event will also provide multiple businesses to business (B2B) and business to consumer (B2C) opportunities for ready-made garments, synthetic textile products, footwear, gems and jewelry, furniture, handicrafts, health products, home textile, carpet, traditional craft/art, and design, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, agro and food Services, fruits and vegetables, cutlery, information, technology, and engineering products.

WEXNET provides women entrepreneurs with an exciting and unique opportunity to showcase their products, develop network linkage, engage in mutually beneficial collaboration, start their experiences and develop female entrepreneurship, all under one roof. It is the best platform for women as it provides them the opportunity to renationalize their brand at a low cost and a chance to build B2B, B2C, and B2G linkages.

Moreover, as a side-line event for this exhibition, TDAP is arranging one seminar on each day of the exhibition for the capacity building of women entrepreneurs. These seminars will be conducted by experts in the field and will help equip women entrepreneurs with the right tools to successfully transform their businesses.

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP)

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is a department within the Ministry of Commerce and Textile Industry of the Government of Pakistan which facilitates and promotes the international trade of Pakistan. TDAP is the successor organization to the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and is mandated to have a holistic view of global trade development rather than only the ‘export promotion’ perspective of its predecessor.

TDAP works in a way that develops and promotes export holistically, through focus, synergy, and with collective wisdom and counsel of its stakeholders.

In addition to its aggressive, innovative, and proactive marketing and promotional efforts, it aims to achieve the objective of rapid export growth through interaction and coordination with respective public and private–sector stakeholders, and enhance the value of products and services by broadening the export base of their products; enhance capability and capacity of the supply base of goods and services; by fostering supportive export culture and facilitation; and encourage export-oriented foreign investment and joint ventures.
